Mobile Elevated Working Platform

This course is designed for operators who do not hold a certificate but have experience operating the MEWP.
Duration: 1 day
Location: Suitable training room (indoor) and large, clear and closed off yard or warehouse area for practical work.
AV Requirements: Digital projector and screen (these are provided by Synergy at no extra cost if not readily available).
Course Tutor: Suitably experienced and qualified tutor.
Numbers: 2 – 4

Course Objectives: On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Operate a MEWP safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians;
• Use safe operating techniques
• Refuel/recharge MEWPS safely
• Correctly position MEWPS in relation to task requirements

Course Content:

• Introduction to course
• Introduction to MEWP
• Safe operating practices
• Elementary operation
• Explanation, demonstration and guided practice in the correct procedures to adopt when operating a MEWP (practical)
• Examination (written and practical)

Prerequisites: Vehicle is mechanically sound and certified;

Training areas made available are sufficient. Each participant will be required to provide their own personal protective equipment on the day – safety footwear, hi-visibility clothing and a safety harness and lanyard.

Certification: Synergy certificate of attendance is provided on successful completion of the course.
